As a retired Charlotte Mecklenburg School Administrator and principal, Linda Morris has spent most of her life making sure the children in our communities receive the support they need to flourish.
In the spring of 2019, Linda and some retired Cornelius Elementary School teachers (Fran Nichols, Chloe Gildberg, Becky Deal, and Helene Snyder) opened a Lake Norman chapter of Bright Blessings, USA (based in Matthews). The focus of the organization is to serve homeless and impoverished children in Iredell and north Mecklenburg County schools.
They started with no money, no space, and no other volunteers. Three and a half years later, LKN Bright Blessings has partnered with over 45 schools to provide at risk children with a host of “bright blessings” and recruited hundreds of volunteers to help fulfill their mission.
In 2022, LKN Bright Blessings helped 621 children celebrate birthdays, provided 3,420 bags of snacks, 2,672 hygiene kits, and 117 bags of emergency supplies containing sleeping bags, blankets, pillows, and other essentials.
Bob McIntosh, Attorney and Managing Partner of The McIntosh Law Firm, is here to thank Linda Morris for her dedication to the children of our communities. The Firm supports Bright Blessings and will be making an additional donation to the organization in her honor.
